Question:

NO GOAL in last nights game?

What kind of penalty will the referees and the video replay judges face after disallowing the Datsyuk goal because "Holmstrom interferred with the goalie"??

He clearly was outside the line and no contact.

I may be biased as a fan...but everyone knows that the redwings game is totally different with a lead...and that call changed the out come of the game.

  1. I may be wrong, but I don't think the play was reviewable under the rules. The Ref made a bad call but there was no recourse for reviewing and changing it.

  2. We should stop this - the pain only gets worse if you pick at it!

I'd like to think that the checks and balances in place for refs will sort this out for the future, but I don't expect to hear about it.

I do not believe that this loss will hurt the Wings, as I definitely think they are showing themselves to be the  better team in this series, and am pretty bummed that I will miss the game on Saturday.  If they keep focus they should advance to the finals without having to worry about breaking a long winning streak, cos it's broken now and they can start up another one.

The players claim never to look back or forward.

  3. lol, I made the same question right after yours. I didn't see the game -- just the replay on "NHL on the Fly". The only reason the referee could waive off the goal is crease violation, but Homstrom was not even the blue paint! He also didn't touch Turco. I feel that plays like this should be subject for review. Was this play reviewed or not? My guess is that it wasn't.

  4. His butt was in the crease . . .  seriously.  That is their argument.

Lidstrom said in a post game interview, "(His skates) were outside where his rear end was over the line.  I didn’t know about that rule. "

  5. Don't remind me please! I'm still very pissed off and my hand is still in pain from punching things last night.

  6. to call no goal on an A$$   ?   i thought Avery was done for the year

  7. That call was a joke and did probably change the game a bit but in reality it won't make a difference in the end result of the series.  Detroit in 5

  8. It was a terrible call, but they have gotten some in the past that shoudl have been called off.  Was it right of the refs to try and make up for that now? No, but what are you going to do.  I am sure the league office, the teams, the fans, and the refs all realize how terrible of a call it was, but unfourtunately it is unreviewable in the rulebook.  Expect a change in the offseason.

It wont matter though because the Wings will come out looking for blood in game 5.  PLus Turco can not win in Detroit.

Jimmy: Crease calls are not reviewable which is retarded imo.

  9. I agree the disallowed goal was c**p

The other less talked about was the goal Turco never had possession of, they blew the whistle and he just sat on it while it was in the net, they never reviewed it or anything, they just took it to the faceoff

But whatever, bad calls happen and Wings didn't adjust, Dallas capitalized and deserved the win.  You have to be a gracious loser, plus the Wings will win in 5 anyway

  10. that was a terrible call but it makes up because one goal earlier in the series should have been disallowed because of holmstrom.  but i agree that call changed the outcome of the game.

  11. I was at the game last night, and I must say I now officially am tired of  Detroit fans. I was sitting in and among several Wings fans, and they bitched and complained all game about ALL sorts of stuff.

In the first, when the Stars were taking control of the game a bit, holding it in the offensive zone a bit lomger, getting some sustained pressure, I overheard a few of the following phrases. "Oh, we are just taking it easy, letting you guys have one game." And,  "We want to win it on Saturday at home in front of our fans..."

Then when they teid it up, it changed to stuff like, "Well, we just decided to go ahead and spoil your attempt to take a game from us..." And, "Sweep, sweep, sweep!"

Then when we took the lead, and added an insurance goal, the compliants about the officials came out, and how the league wants this series to go to 7 games for the ratings, citing crooked refs, and such.

    Gimmie a break.

The Wings may very likely end up taking the series, but not without a fight from the Stars....

    GO STARS!!!!!
