NO TURN ON RED at photo enforced intersection?

I was at a photo enforced intersection in West Covina, CA, and I made a full stop at the red light, and then made a right turn during the red light. As i did that, I noticed that there was a sign that read "NO TURN ON RED 7am to 4pm" and it was 3pm. I didnt see any flash go off from the cameras. Do the cameras take pictures of these situations, or only cars that run the red light directly?

  1. Don't know for SURE, but I suspect they are ticketing only people who do not stop before turning.

I read that in a lot of situations, the cameras have been so successful at stopping red light runners, that revenue is down, so they have expanded the systems to catch those naughty right turners.

It's kind of funny that initially, they said the reason for the cameras is "safety" but now that everyone is "safer" (no more red light runners and no $$ rolling in) they have to think up another way to increase revenue............

  2. You may not have seen the flash because it was daytime.

  3. Yes they do take pictures................

  4. Hmmmmmm, time will tell, eh?

If you don't get a ticket in the mail, then you win!

If you do get a ticket in the mail, pay up and learn!

    Have a nice day....
