NOC President appreciates Olympics coaching course
President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), Sani Ndanusa, appreciated the great efforts of Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF) and its President Patrick Ukah, in organizing the Olympic Solidarity Hockey Coaching Course which
will improve the knowledge of participants and keep them aware of the latest hockey techniques.
“I have never doubted for once the competence and hard work of the hockey President, who has been doing everything humanly possible to ensure the game moves to the next level in the country,” Ndanusa said.
“I watched keenly for 25 minutes the lecture given by the visiting lecturer, Nobert Nederlof, and I am very happy and convinced that our coaches would gain a lot from this IOC/Olympic Solidarity Hockey Coaching Course.
“I am also using the opportunity to ask the hockey President to ensure participants for this course are well utilised for the growth of the game in the country. I am also using this medium to say that there is going to be tax rebate
for the sponsor of this game at the end of the year because we want them to enjoy something, too, from investing in the game.”
Ndanusa further encouraged the hockey President to keep contact with sponsor and tell him later about their involvement so that he could grant some tax relaxation to companies willing to sponsor and partner with the Hockey Federation.
The high standard five-day Olympics Solidarity Coaching Course attracted numerous coaches across the country as it taught about the latest techniques in hockey.
The NHF President thanked Ndanusa, and made an announcement for rewarding certificates to the participants of the coaching course.
“I am using this opportunity to declare openly that those who participated in this coaching course would benefit a lot because they would form the nucleus of the national team coaches and would be the ones the federation would
always reckon with henceforth,” Ukah said.
The course instructor of the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) Norbert who himself is a famous hockey star , said that he was very pleased and satisfied from the participants and believed that the training lessons delivered
to them would be fruitful for the players as well as will increase the development of the game in the country.
