Question:

NOR logic gate question. Pulse does not go through the gate?

If one input is high and there is a positive pulse on the other input will the pulse go through the logic gate?

As I know, normally in the positive logic NOR gate if all inputs are low the output is high. If any of the inputs high then the output is low.

I am checking a digital circuit with an oscilloscope now and the pulse does not come through the gate. One input is high and there is a positive pulse on the other input. Please, give the answer and expalin why. Thank you very much.

  1. Bill is right. If you have any positive input on the gate it will always be low.

  2. no, the high input says the output will always be low.

You know how a NOR gate works. If either input is high, the output is low. One input is high, so the output is low. It is working properly.
