NORCECA Development Seminar gets underway in Dominican Republic – Volleyball news
The North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Federation (NORCECA), which represents 35 countries of the zone, is always at the forefront to work for the development of challenging sport of volleyball in the region.
The Caribbean Federation in collaboration with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has organised several development programs since its inception in 1997. The Federation has really worked hard to improve the quality of sport in the region.
Currently, a NORCECA Development Seminar is underway in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The seminar started off on Thursday, January 19 and it will be closed on Friday. The famous FIVB Regional Development Centre in Dominican Republic is hosting the two-day
development seminar. The Development Centre in Dominican Republic is the perfect place to hold such activities. In past, the centre has set up excellent arrangements for different development programs and courses for coaches, referees, instructors, medical
doctors, and aspiring athletes.
This 2012 NORCECA Development Seminar has been especially organised for the coaches and instructors of the NORCECA region. The seminar has received coaches and instructors from United States, Trinidad and Tobago, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Costa
Rica, Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Argentina. Cartagena, John Kessel, Mohammed, Eugenio George, Nelson Ramirez, Justo Morales, Angel Peña, Chrissy Benz, Rene Quintana, Francisco Cruz, Argelio Hernandez and Roosevelt Comarazamy are the participants of the
seminar.
The 1st Executive Vice President of FIVB and President of NORCECA, Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz presided over the opening ceremony of seminar on Thursday. He was joined by other officials of the Federation and members of the FIVB Board of Administration.
