NRL round 24: Preview
With only three games left in the 2010 National Rugby League season the stakes are high. With several teams hanging around the eighth spot trying to get into the post-season, round 24 should be especially exciting.
Panthers vs. Rabbitohs
The Panthers welcome the Rabbitohs to CUA Stadium in Penrith for the first game of week.
The Panthers are coming off of a tough loss to the Wests Tigers, and will be looking to maintain home-field advantage with a win this week.
Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs currently sit in ninth spot, and will need to garner some points in the next couple rounds if they hope to move into a play-off spot.
The Panthers are in fourth with 28 points, while the Rabbitohs are in ninth with 24 points.
Knights vs. Broncos
The Knights host the Broncos at Energy Australia Stadium this week.
The Knights are pretty much out of the play-off race, but are in a good position to play spoiler to the Broncos post-season aspirations.
The Broncos are coming off of a loss to the Eels and will have to get back on track in order to hold off the teams below them.
The Knights are in 12th spot with 22 points, while the Broncos are in eighth with 26 points.
Sea Eagles vs. Warriors
The Sea Eagles welcome the Warriors to Brookvale Oval on Saturday night.
The Sea Eagles are coming off of a loss to the Dragons on Monday, and will be interested in regaining their form in order to challenge for home-field advantage.
The Warriors defeated the Knights last round but still have some work to do before they can be guaranteed a play-off spot.
The Sea Eagles are currently in seventh with 26 points, while the Warriors are in sixth with 28 points.
Cowboys vs. Bulldogs
The Cowboys welcome the Bulldogs to Dairy Farmers Stadium in Saturday’s second game.
The Cowboys and Bulldogs have both adopted the role of spoiler, as they have been eliminated from play-off contention. Therefore this will be a battle of the basement dwellers, purely for bragging rights.
The Cowboys are in 15th place with 14 points, while the Bulldogs are in 13th with 18 points.
Storm vs. Sharks
The Storm welcome the Sharks to AAMI Park in the final game on Saturday.
 The Storm have been on a roll recently, defeating the Rabbitohs last round, and bringing some credibility to the franchise at the end of a tough year.
The Sharks also completed an upset last week over the Roosters, and will be interested in continuing their winning ways this week in Melbourne.
The Storm are in last with zero points, while the Sharks are in 14th with 16 points.
Raiders vs. Dragons
The Raiders will be at home to the Dragons this week in Canberra Stadium
The Raiders are coming off of an important win over the Bulldogs last week, and will look to stay in the win column against a tough Dragons.
The Dragons won the Monday night affair last week, and will be keen to increase their lead at the top of the table, this Sunday.
The Raiders are currently in 11th with 24 points, while the Dragons are in first with 34 points.
Eels vs. Wests Tigers
The Eels host the Wests Tigers at Parramatta Stadium this Sunday.
The Eels are looking to maintain their form after defeating the Broncos last week in their quest for a play-off spot.
Meanwhile, the Wests Tigers are making a push for first place, after running to a convincing win over the Panthers in round 23.
The Eels are in 10th spot with 24 points, while the Wests Tigers are in third place with 30 points.
Roosters vs. Titans
For the match-up of the week it is only fitting that the Roosters are hosting the Titans at Sydney Football Stadium on Monday night.
The Rooster will be keen to return to winning form after getting upset at the hands of the Sharks last week.
The Titans however, will look to continue their strong play, building off of their win over the Cowboys last round.
The Roosters are in fifth spot with 28 points, while the Titans are in second with 30 points.
