Curios to find out how hard it is to get a slot at BUD/S after commissioning how are officers selected and how do they start the process if that's a career a cadet is interested to go in to as an ensign?

  1. Most NROTC programs, have a Seal Challenge unit.

For those who want to become seals.

You basically work out, and participate in contest against other seal challenge units.

Just like AROTC Best Ranger units.

Seal Officer slots are very highly competetive.

You would need to be near the top of your class in GPA and leadership to be selected.

  2. You would hve to spend a little time in the Navy (or Coast Guard) before they even consider you for the Indoctrination.  The minimum is three years, then you may try-out.
