NSHSS organization?

Question

got an invitation- however I also found out this National society of High School Scholars was a FOR-profit organization, and charged an one time $45 entrance fee.

Should I join it? I'm getting mixed images of this place, so preferably who has joined- tell me about what you guys do, is it worth it? I'm currently a high school senior preparing to graduate, so theres not much I can due with it college application wise- any other uses?

It's probably fake/a scam.  Don't bother with it especially since you are a senior.
