NSPCC vs RSPCA?

Anybody have an answer for this? In the UK, we have the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). Then we have the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). Why isn’t it equal for both? Why is it Royal for animals and National for kids? As much as I love animals, surely kids deserve royal respect? The mind boggles!

  1. whats in a name ?

some of the kids of today act like animals

  2. The NSPCC was granted its Royal Charter in 1895, when Queen Victoria became its first Royal Patron. It did not change its title to "Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children" or similar, as the name NSPCC was already well established, and to avoid confusion with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), which had already existed for more than fifty years.

  3. I think that children and animals should both have the protection they deserve, as they are both living things which need to be treated with respect and without harm.

  4. er, because of the origin of the organisation?

Why is there the Royal Society of Chemistry

    but simply the Law Society?

does one make it more important than the other? nope. just different.

  5. It depends who and how things were set up the RSPCA was just SPCA until Queen Victoria gave her permission for the SPCA to be called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The NSPCC was founded by a vicar.

  6. We are all animals you know on this planet. Humans just think to highly of them selves

  7. If the kids get Royal respect maybe they would then get entitlement to the Crown. You earn respect anyway, your not entitled to it.

  8. No we don't, in Scotland it is the  SSPCC Scottish society for the protection against cruelty to children and SSPCA. Scottish society for the protection against cruelty to animals. In Scotland it is equal. Who's care would you rather have a royals or the entire nations. Much as I love them (the royals) I know who's protection I'd rather have.
