  1. Here ya go, it's a very common issue and very easy to fix:

  2. NTLDR is the basic file required which your computer BIOS software will detect it to start the windows. If it is missing then you cannot start your PC as you are telling. Simple way to fix this is :

Insert your windows CD-ROM (you didn't tell what windows you have but anyway),

Check your HDD cables, they shouldn't be loose.

If you have XP, hit 'R' to start up the recovery console then fill in the administrator password and then type this

    copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\

    copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

(assuming your cd-rom drive is 'e:' and drive from where ntldr file is missing is 'c:')

If the above does not fix the problem then may be you have corrupt master boot record.

To fix it type 'fixmbr' at the recovery console and also try 'fixboot' to fix the corrupt boot sector.

If this doesn't fix too then you might have a corrupt boot.ini file to fix that you have to read information about it on http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000... in order to fix it.

    This must help.

  3. Try the selective boot by holding down the F-5 or F-8 key when rebooting the machine...When you get the selections try last known good configuration and see if Windows will start.  Otherwise try the Safe Mode option.  If neither of those work than reinstall Windows.

  4. Check to see if there a disk in the tray, set the boot sequence in the bios to boot from HDD
