HI THERE

Can anyone help me something about nursing tax deduction? Someone told me that nurse income is high and also has a big tax deduction. If I bacome a nurse, can I claim tax deduction for some expenses not related to work or capital gain? if not, whats the difference bw nurse tax deduction and a normal emploree tax dedution. Thank you guys~

  2. You can only claim tax deductions for expenses that are incurred in carrying out your job. For example, if the hospital you work at requires you to wear a uniform you can claim the cost of purchase and laundering (if the design is registered with the tax office). You can claim things like courses and reference materials related to nursing that you need for professional development. There is no difference between a "nurses tax deduction" and a "normal employee tax deduction" - it's just the same thing but specific to nursing. Basically if it's not an expense you're incurring for work purposes then you can't claim it as a deduction. Always best to check with your tax agent/accountant or the tax office. In fact the tax office has guides for deductions for specific occupations and I believe they have one for nursing.
