I have purchased the nVidia GeForce 9600GT graphics card for this pc:

Every requirement checks out except the power supply. Will I be able to run it with a 300W power supply even though it recommends a 400W? If not, can someone show me a graphics card that can run with a 300W power supply and play games like Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2 and Spore at medium settings?

  1. Oh dear God no. You actually need more then the recommended to even run it. I found that out the hard way. Also, make sure it has enough amps.

  2. Any decent graphics card is going to require at least 400W+. I'd just recommend upgrading your power supply. They're cheaper than having your system burn out because of improper power supply issues to begin with.
