In NY, how many years do you have to submit a medical bill to a patient for co-pays? I thought it was 7 years, but i'm being told by some pompass attorney that is incorrect (yet he doesn't know the answer to my question)..

  1. the statue of limitations in NY is 6 years, so, the medical company forfeit their right to sue.

  2. if the patient signed a form stating that if under any circumstances your insurance company does not cover the listed charges you will be responsible for payment, he is accepting the fact that he will be held liable for these claims, and no darling medical bills never go away, produce him with the multiple attempts to get payment from his insurance company.  lawyers know nothing about medical billing and the insurance company, do not let him scare you. this is their tactic, to get out of paying for a claim on a patient. good luck and i hope this helps
