Ok. Here's the story. My friend drove into the city with her parents' car for her moving day. She parked at a muni meter and paid for an hour of parking, even though she only needed 5 minutes. She ran up to someone's office to grab something and when she came back down, a meter maid was writing her a ticket!
The meter maid said it didn't matter that she'd paid the muni meter... commercial vehicles were only allowed to park there during those hours.
She was in a huge rush, very irritated that this all had happened in 5 minutes, and she told the meter maid to mail her the ticket -- she had to leave. (ah, the pressures of moving day...) And she left the premises with the car.
So... now what will happen? Will a parking ticket simply be mailed to her parents? Or will some (more severe) charge be made because she left the premises without the ticket?
We can't figure out what will happen.
