  1. The most popular site among residents is Piazza San Giovanni.

In the NYE night will be held a free concert to celebrate the last night of 2006; in the meanwhile ,starting from midnight, you'll have fireworks practically everywhere in the town. If you have the opportunity to move by subway or by car go on top of any of the 7 hills of Rome and we will enjoy them better.

However I cannot suggest you specific places (also because I don't know yr age,yr tastes, etc.) but you'll find over there really a lot of things to see and to do (in the discos,in the theaters,in the streets, etc.) and at the end you'll have a very good memory of the NYE in Rome.

  2. Spend it underneath the stars- in Piazza Spagna then go out to the bars and keep warm! In Bocca Al Lupo!!!

Actually, any piazza will be wonderful- Piazza Navona, Fontana Di Trevi (very romantic)- Piazza del Popolo,

basically if you are in Roma you WILL have an amazing New Years!

Gosh that brings back so many memories answering this question- I went to high school in Rome (The American Overseas School of Rome......on Via Cassia)

Any ideas for me in South Florida?!?!?

    ......thanks, Luca

  3. The obvious one is piazza navona or the other piazza slightly to the south (fiori?).  There is a really good bar called botticella on via tor millina just off piazza navona - I knew it was good the first time I walked in and a group Swedish girls were lining shots of Tequila up on the bar!

  4. Lucky you I would love to go to Rome
