Question:

NYKO hdmi cable PS3?

Hi,

I am running a couple of NYKO hdmi cables from my PS3 to a Yamaha rx v663 and from the Yamaha to a Sony TV. First 10 min everything seems to be fine, but after that I start getting a very bad static. No matter what I do either watch a dvd or play a game. You can hear it and ,most importantly, you can see that. It's like a bunch of pixels everywhere plus cracking noise.

The weird part is that fist 10 min is just fine, but then it's pretty bad. Is there a problem with the cables? and why first few minutes it's just fine? Does anyone know what the problem is?

  1. Well, It MIGHT be the AMP's HDMI circuitry....or the PS3's.

You have to remove the Amp from the HDMI loop and connect the PS 3 directly to the TV and see if the problem is still there after 10 minutes....and if it is, try switching the INPUT to another used or unused input , THEN SWITCH BACK....

If the snow/noise disappears, then the handshaking must be working and CLEARS OUT the HDMI processor....

Then, if you want to ISOLATE the problem further.....Try another HDMI based unit, like a DVD player or your friend's PS3....

I know it's NOT the cables, unless NYKO cable are heavy like the MONSTER cables are.....

You ever notice those HDMI connectors are thin and light and VERY FRAGILE?

They were DESIGNED for lightweight cables to be used because that's all they require....MONSTER decided to OVERBUILD and sucker people into thinking BIGGER is BETTER....

    They're not.....

Just remember, the SOURCE of noise always follows the offending device....

If the Sony is noisy, all DVD and PS3's will SHOW noise when connected....

IF it's the PS3, then any TV that you connect it up to with HDMI will have that noise....

If it's the AMP, then the PS3's and DVDs that you connect DIRECTLY into the TV will look good and then look bad when you connect the AMP to the HDMI loop.....
