NYS Metlife Disability Insurance

Question

A friend of mine was recently hurt on the job a foot injury. She is out on sick leave and she has been seeing an Orthopedic Dr. My friend is receiving treatment now. She decided to apply for Disability Insurance thru the job they use Met-Life.

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive Disability in NYC? The percentage of salary receive, does it depend on the amount the company she works for is willing to pay and/or what the state allows.

have your friend call her HR officer and if that doesnt work have her call a local Met Life agent that services diability claims go to www.metlife.com and find a local office, but this sounds like a workers comp. claim
