I have a NYS learners permit and i was wonderin with it cud i go to school and work without havin an adult in the car?

  1. I am from the state of Maryland, so I don't know the specifics of NY's permits, but I'll do the best I can.

    Here in MD, if you have a permit and not a license, then you can NOT drive anywhere unless there is someone over the age of 18 who has had their license for at least 3 years, and has not had any tickets for 2 years in the car with you.

    The specifications may be different in NY, but I would imagine that the idea is the same. You have to have an adult in the car with you until you get your own license!

    to LEARN TO DRIVE. You are not allowed to learn to drive on your own.

    Did you not take a test for the learner's permit?

    Doesn't it read right on the permit that you must be accompanied by an adult licensed driver?

    If you want to have tickets on your driver's license before you even get it then go ahead and drive.
