Stoke City midfielder, Steven N’Zonzi, believes his side can pull off an upset when they visit Old Trafford this weekend.
The French International insisted that it will be no miracle if the Potters are able to stun the 19 times league champions at their own fortress, pointing out that he achieved the feat with Blackburn Rovers last season.
Stoke acquired the services of the 23-year old from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 on the transfer deadline date for an estimated 3 million pounds transfer fee.
During the last campaign, he was a part of the Blackburn team which inflicted a shock 3-2 defeat at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men, despite undergoing an abysmal run of form.
The Reds Devils will go into the match on Saturday as heavy favourites, given their sublime current form and the poor history of their opponents at the Theatre of Dreams.
Although not many people are fancying Stoke’s chances of pulling off a result, N’Zonzi claimed his side were more than capable of accomplishing it.
He said that it was only natural that the Potters are being considered as the underdogs in front of the English Giants, but insisted that it did not mean that they will be easy pushovers for the home team.
“It is one game and people may not give us much chance on Saturday. Similarly nobody gave Blackburn a chance when we went there last season, and look what happened that day,” he told the reporters.
Stoke may be currently short of points in the table, but the Britannia outfit have already put up some impressive performances this term. They were able to eke out a point out of their difficult visits to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and also held the title holders,
Manchester City, to a 1-1 draw at home.
The midfielder heaped praise on his side for putting up a valiant show against the Premier League’s big guns. He also said that they will only improve as the season progresses and that he was enjoying his time at Stoke.
“We are moving in the right direction and I am really enjoying being a part of it all,” he added.
