Na Yeon Choi and Se Ri Park firm to grab the top spot in Kraft Nabisco Championship
Ambitious Na Yeon Choi and Se Ri Park are pretty optimistic about doing their best at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, as they vowed that they will try to grab the top spots in the third and fourth round.
The major championship is going to enter into its third round, with Yani Tseng standing at the top spot on the leaderboard.
However, the match appears to be a bit tougher due to the presence of top-ranked LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) titans.
Choi performed amazingly well in the second round of the $2 million event, as she fired a stunning 67.
Choi’s score helped her atone for her lapses in the first round. The South Korean star registered a 72, which did not help her put pressure on her rivals.
On the other hand, fellow South Korean Se Ri Park also improved her position on the leaderboard in the second round, as she posted a decent 60, surging to stand tied for fifth.
Choi, too, is standing tied for the fifth spot.
Analysts are saying that the two South Korean stars can pose a threat to other contenders in the field, as they know how to counter their lapses.
The two players were apparently not satisfied with their performance in the first round.
However, bolstering their positions in the second round has given both players plenty of confidence.
Choi shared her feelings with the media at the end of the second round, saying she is happy to find her form and will try to keep the pressure intact.
She said that other players are definitely giving her a tough time, but she is holding her nerve.
Speaking of the Dinah Shore Tournament Course, Choi said that playing well is not the only factor boosting her confidence, but the course is also giving her room to prove her mettle.
“I have a lot of confidence with this golf course,” she said, “and my feeling was great.” Park said she is keeping a close eye on her rivals, and will try to surge past the current world number one.
Park vowed to further improve her position on the leaderboard in the next two rounds. “I've got two more days to go. But I'm really happy about my game,” she said.
