Na Yeon Choi heaps praise on Inbee Park
South Korean Na Yeon Choi has said that Inbee Park has improved her game quite a lot in the recent past, and she is able to post the lowest score at the coming LPGA Hana Bank Championship
2012.
Choi is gearing up to participate in the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012 scheduled to be played from October 19-21, at Incheon, South Korea, but she appears to be heavily impressed by what
Park did to her at the recently held Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
Park got off to fiery start a Kuala Lumpur and kept all her competitors in pressure throughout the four days. She carded an overall score of 269 that helped her record a two-stroke victory
against Choi.
Choi was defending her title at Sime Darby, but Park hampered her from advancing in the final round.
It is not just Sime Darby performance that makes Choi appreciate Park’s skills, the resurgent golfer has impressed her fans at the Evian Masters 2012 too, beating her nearest rivals by two
strokes.
Choi might not have liked letting the title slip through her hands, but she could not help praising Park.
Speaking to the media during her pre-tournament interview here at Incheon, she said that she regretted losing to Park, but she watched her nearest competitor play with great interest.
She went on to say that winning the title at Kuala Lumpur has given Park much-needed confidence and she is now taking her game even more seriously.
“Of course Inbee is really my close friend, so I really feel good to congratulate her on her winning compared to any other players. I had a few conversations with her recently, and I could
feel that her confidence level was high,” said Choi who finished second at the 2011 edition of LPGA Hana Bank Championship and is being regarded as the hot favourite for the title this week.
“That's merely based on her improvement of her score and skills. She's got really great long distance, and her putting skill has been really great since she was young”.
The South Korean prodigy said that Park has not only boosted her swing strength, but she has also fine-tuned her short game. “Right now she greatly improved her shot skill, so that's why with
such a combination she could lower her score as low as she can. So we need to work really hard”.
