South Korean Na Yeon Choi, who won her first major victory at the US Women’s Open 2012 in grand style, is in the field of the upcoming Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, set to be held from August 6-12, at Highland
Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania Ohio.
Choi many not be as experienced as Stacy Lewis or current world number one Yani Tseng when it comes to facing pressure on the course, but the South Korean star is determined to make another major breakthrough
in her career.
Choi is going to face competent LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars at the tournament, which can make it a little difficult for the rising golfer to play with ease.
However, Choi has shown in the recent tournaments that she is hard to subdue, and the upcoming battle is going to see her display a superior game.
The field for the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic has been published. Key contenders include I.K. Kim, Stacy Lewis, Cristie Kerr, Mika Miyazato, Ai Miyazato, Brittany Lincicome, Brittany Lang, Amy Yang, Yani Tseng,
Natalie Gulbis, Laura Davies, Paula Creamer, Vicky Hurst, Christina Kim, Beatriz Recari, So Yeon Ryu, Hee Kyung Seo, Alena Sharp, Jessica Shepley, Inbee Park and Ryann O'Toole.
Despite a strong field, Choi is expected to hold her nerve when she comes face-to-face against rivals in Ohio.
Analysts said that if the young prodigy is able to repeat her US Open performance, she can clinch a victory next week. The major winner has been focusing on her putting and swing for the last few months, and
has seen much-needed improvement.
Speaking to the media during one of her interviews, Choi said that her game was much better in the US Women’s Open 2012.
“I don't know. We just do -- practice hard and working hard and like -- especially this week, the good memory, special memory gave me good confidence, like when I was young, when I watched Se Ri playing, I
remember everything. I remember what she -- how she playing on the course,” she said.
“When I came to here on Monday, I just -- I think that feeling through my head or through my heart, something remind how I started playing golf. So I just reminded what is my goal or what I can do”.
