Moroccan international, Nabil Dirar turned out to be the most expensive winter signing by a Ligue 2 club this January when he joined AS Monaco from Belgian Jupiler side Club Brugge for 7.5 million Euros.
Including bonuses, Ligue 2 side paid Belgian Jupiler outfit 7.5 million Euros for the services of Moroccan international Nabil Dirar. The midfielder has not yet played for Monaco but fans are already anticipating his debut.
Billed as a technical genius, the Casablanca-born midfielder surprised many people in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 when he chose to join Ligue 2 side AS Monaco where his first task would be to guide them safely away from the relegation zone.
However, the Moroccan is not worried about the club’s position in the standings.
While talking about his transfer, Dirar said that he was given a good offer and it all happened quickly. Dirar also said that playing in Belgium had become a routine for him and so he wanted to do something different.
“I left everything to come and play in Ligue 2, it will still be three times better. I do not regret because it’s all good here.”
But if his transfer generated so much talk, it’s also his reputation of a bad boy that makes him different to many players. The 25-year-old admits that he can be a crazy guy at times.
A few months ago, he bit Standard Liege man http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sébastien-Pocognoli-c32809. However, Dirar says that he was just having fun before saying that he is not Mike Tyson.
“Yes, but I know him, we had fun. I’m still not Mike Tyson,” said a cheeky Dirar who is sure to see his name in the newspapers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 regularly one way or the other.
The midfielder has a reputation of being too selfish on the ball especially when his side is losing. The 25-year-old also admits that.
“Hot blood, bad loser: when you lose, he does not pass and I’ve heard this a lot. The storm has abated somewhat. I came here to play forward in Ligue 1, progress and do great things with Monaco,” says Dirar whose performances for Monaco in a tricky campaign
would show how much the storm has abated for him and for his new club.
