Nacer Bouhanni of Team FDJ-Big Mat opens his winning account at the Tour De Wallonie-Picardie 2012 after his heroic performance during the stage 4 of the race.
The cyclist is having an impressive season with several top performances including stage victories at the Halle-Ingooigem, Etoile de Besseges, Tour de Wallonie and the Tour de l'Eurometropole.
He claimed an overall victory, stage1, point’s classifications and the young rider’s classifications to mark a perfect 2012 season.
Bouhanni completed the 153.8 kilometre stage 4 of the Tour De Wallonie-Picardie race between Mons to Tournai in a quickest time of 3 hours, 24 minutes and 25 seconds and occupied the top podium position.
Adam Blythe of Team BMC, Jurgen Roelandts of Team Lotto Belisol, Michael Van Staeyen of Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator and Roy Jans of Team Post-Sean Kelly achieved the next four positions in the respective order.
Rob Ruigh of Team Vacansoleil-DCM and Nacer Bouhanni of Team FDJ-Big Mat won the first and the fourth sprints of the race while Juan Antonio Flecha of Team Sky Procycling claimed the second and the third sprints of the event.
Thomas Bertolini of Team Farnese Vini - Selle Italia succeeded at the first, second and the fourth mountain of the race with Boris Dron of Team Wallonie Bruxelles-Credit Agricole winning the third climb of the event.
Jurgen Roelandts is leading the sprint classifications with Stijn Neirynck of Team Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck winning the mountain’s classification and the most combative rider awards.
Gediminas Bagdonas of Team An Post - Sean Kelly wins the most combative rider award after his courageous performance during the race.
Jurgen Roelandts managed to continue his overall lead after the final general classifications and claimed an overall victory at the race.
