should it bring back the conversation of a possible revision of clay to grass schedule?

i just don't get it. here he was just in a major final only sunday and now he's at Stella Artois, immediately following? i think it just proves they need lengthen the grass calendar....cut a few hard court tourney's in the initial summer season and move wimbledon up a couple weeks. i can't imagine how all of the tennis nadal has played on the clay, will affect how he will on grass and at wimbledon. it just seems an insane amount of play with hardly any breaks at all. he couldn't even savour his win sunday for that he had to be in london to prepare for this tournament. that's appalling to me.

  1. I completely agree with what you have to say. What adds insult to injury is that the clay court season was shorter and Rafa had to play the same amount of tournaments that he did last year, but in a shorter amount of time. So Rafa has been playing insane amount of tennis the past few weeks (ever since Monte Carlo Masters in April).

They definitely need to change the scheduling of tournaments and put more gap between French and Wimbledon.

But honestly, I dont think it is happening. Over the years, there have been a lot of talks about moving Wimbledon ahead for more space between French and Wimbledon, moving Australian Open ahead (because it is played so early during the year). But nothing concrete has happened.

  2. very true...

  3. Wimbledon will never agree to be moved up.  It would force the rest of the schedule to work around their fortnight, which has always been the last week of June and the first week of July.  And I doubt Roland Garros would agree to be changed on the schedule as well.  Although it is difficult to switch immediately from clay to grass, that's what makes winning the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year so special, and rare.

  4. Congratulations to Rafa making the semi finals :) Vamos he owned Ivo !
