Question:

Nadal At The French- Future To Come?

Ironically, like Federer, Nadal sits tied with Borg for most consecutive titles at a Grand Slam, in this case the French Open.

Winning 5 in a row ain't as hard as winning 6 in a row, on paper that is, but you gotta think breaking a record like that puts pressure on you like Federer broke the consecutive record at the U.S. Open.

So, first question, will Nadal win 5 straight?

Secondly, how many will he win total? Feel free to say how much in a row you think he'll win total if beyond 5.

I think he will win a 5th, but not a 6th in a row, something tells me Djokovic or possibly Federer will win in 2010.

Nadal will come back to win back to back titles, then lose and then win another one and retire in 2014.

  1. No, I don't think Nadal can win 5 straight.  His playing style just pounding on the hard courts isn't doing his body any good. He's not going to have  a long career if he keeps playing like that. That's why he's so burnt out by the U.S. Open.

  2. Well after Fed beats Rafa at the AO next January Borg will be quoted as saying that Rafa is not playing as well as he did last year and that he thinks Fed will beat him at Roland Garros. Hey Borg is no fool. Do you honestly believe he wanted to loose the record to Federer. h**l no! Which is why he said it publicly after the French Final to get people saying it too and get Fed upset or doubting himself that such a retired great as Borg thinks he can't win Wimby #6. Roger was off and almost looked like he was just going through the motions until that 2nd rain delay when he was down 2 sets then came out and won the next 2 sets. Borg must have said something inspirational to Nadal during the 3rd rain delay cause he played superb. Fed lost his edge again and not being able to break Nadal's serve he knew once he got broke that it was over. He hit most of his shots to Rafa rather than into the open parts of the court. The match point netted shot was ridiculous. He was in no man's land hitting a cross court forehand to Rafa's back hand side while Rafa was standing in the deuce court rather than fire an inside out forehand to the wide open ad court. Fed was just not thinking. He was mentally beaten right from the first game of the match when his serve was broken.

So Federer will win the French next year then Rafa will be back on track to win the next 3 years and he will end up with 7 and beat Borg. Revenge is sweet. Unfortunately I can't see Roger winning the next 6 Wimbys so as to beat the record that he shares with Borg. Glad to see Borg survived his divorce from his Italian wife and the drug overdose. He still looks like he is in good shape and very competitive I'd love to see him start playing Sr. events at Wimbledon or Roland Garros with McEnroe.

  3. i think nadal will win it in 6 a row. maybe in 2011, federer will take the title finally

  4. I think he will keep on winning the french open until a new clay courter arrives to challenge him. If it stays like it is now he will keep on winning it for years because not even Djockovic or Federer can match him on clay. The way it is now I think he will win 6 french open titles in a row and then a new player will finally best him on clay.

  5. i dont see who could beat him
