Question:

Nadal May Need More Personality, English to Win Endorsements ...?

``He's old school,'' said Steve Rosner, co-founder of sports marketing firm 16W in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

``The Wimbledon victory puts him on the list of endorsers to consider. But until he makes an effort to clean up his English and show he wants to get out there and sell, I don't think anyone will be dialing their agents screaming, `We've got to sign this guy.'''

Its really a shame that people would rather have him change and be someone that he's not just so he can get endorsements. Rafa doesn't care about the endorsement money, he just wanna do what he does best: play tennis and be HIMSELF - humble and down to earth.

i say s***w endorsements, just do what makes u happy Rafa. And u certainly don't have to worry about ur 'english'.Stay true to your roots. Toni taught u well man.I'll be proud to have him as an uncle, coach and mentor. He's like the best uncle in the world.

  1. Rafa is not interested in peddling American wares like Federer is. He doesn't care about jetsetting everywhere and being seen in only the finest clothes, etc. which is why many people identify with and respect Rafa. He is not swayed by outside opinion (even the bum-picking which I admit is a rather unfortunate habit). His aim is to be the very best tennis player possible and then he goes home to his hometown and hangs with his family and friends as he always has. He makes the money he needs on the tour and isn't interested in the bling that other tennis stars like Federer desire - no offense to Federer fans of course.

  2. he's not so handsome---no offense to Rafa fans.

    by the way, i'm

    ROGER FEDERER's fan

  3. Rafa is a decent guy and sort of cute. He won Wimbledon with personality and I was so glad he bet Federer. no offence to his fans but he did win Wimbledon five times.

  4. Whats the question? the sport marketer is professional and  know what he is saying even if you do not want to hear it. He is lucky the sport marketer did not embarrass him by saying picking your butt in front of millions of people does not make a good image to promote which would be true also. Not to worry I will promote Nadal with my new song on youtube

Ra ra kick him in the knee

Ra ra kick him in the other knee

Which knee? left knee? right knee? Oh

Kick him, kick him, kick him like so

    Rafa Rafa no no no

Picking your butt is not the way to go

Ra ra kick him in the knee

Ra ra kick him in the other knee

Which knee? left knee? right knee? Oh

Kick him, kick him, kick him like so

  5. I think Nadal has a very strong personality. He is a very down to earth guy who sticks close to his Mallorcan crew. And people haven't noticed that his english is improving! I think he should do whatever he wants.

  6. Rafa 's got personality by the bucketload, and if Steve Rosner bothered to listen to Rafa's English, he would know that it's improved.

He's in the game for the love of it , so no-one should try to change the way he is , talented, grounded, proud of what he does and loyal to his family & country.

Would you really like to see his gorgeous body dressed in something like the awful cardigan that  Federer wears- no! Nike don't have a problem with his clothes do they?
