  1. not at all

  2. i dont agree with you. Nadal will whoop your ***. And you cant even talk/

  3. I don't ...

His game is superb to watch.......

why? did you miss the wimbledon finals so as to ask such a Q?

  4. Not boring at all. Are you just another sore loser because Federer is "only" No. 2? He is amazing to watch has improved his precision alot. Also the way he can move quickly around the court to hit balls no other player could. How can he not be talented when he has never lost at the french open for 4 years and look at the Wimbledon Final, the olympics and the world rankings. He is amazing!

  5. Did you watch the Wimbledon final?

  6. i partly agree. Nadal may not be as talented as Federer but his style isn't boring at all. i admire his game a lot

  7. boring? ^^ we must be watching a different Nadal xD  His style is different from Federer's but I don't know I like his game. He is actually the one who  made me start playing tennis =) if you saw the french open 08 and wimbledon 08 .. then you should know that Nadal's style is so NOT boring ^^ He made incredible shots down the line too .. at the Beijing Olympics and he goes to the net also .. which we didn't expect him years ago !

  8. Let's see, 5 things on how can you call him boring and not much of a talent:

    1. He has consecutively won 4 French Open Grand Slam titles. In straight sets against Federer.

    2. He has a world record on most number of consecutive wins on clay.

    3. He won the Wimbledon against Federer in 5 sets but it has been called "the Greatest Tennis Match". Talk about stamina.

    4. He won the Gold Medal in the Beijing Olympics.

    5. He is currently World Number 1.

OMG. Rafael Nadal is so boring and untalented! NOT!  Excuse me. Rafael Nadal, Boring? No way. He makes the crown want a really good game not just a classy, graceful and a "you know what's next" type of game.

  9. i'm sensing you don't like nadal very much do you? :)

i know i lot of people that doesn't like his style 'cause it's too physical and doesn't require a great technique or talent like federer's but i guess that contrast is what makes the sport interesting, different styles of play, different characters you can like one or the other or maybe both, the thing is that nadal has proved that you don't have to be extremely talented to be competing at the highest level

  10. Yeah Nadal is a Rough grinder, who just eats away in his rallies. But Fed and Borg had a bit more elegant game, who I think are more naturally talented than him.

  11. Don't agree at all This boy has wheels for feet have you ever seen him run down a ball no one can do it like that.  And for his style just goes to show no one can handle it, and if it was so easy these pros would be beating him easy.

  12. here is another case of a fed's sourgraping fan who cannot accept that NADAL is the new number 1. I AM NOT TOTALLY AGREES WITH U. He will not be NUMBER 1 for nothing. REmember that.....He's a fun to watch and NOT boring as u are saying. He has a very good fightling spirit which the rest seems doesnt have.  He always puts the ball in play even impossible to return it....... VAMOS RAFA - THE NEW NUMBER 1. GO AND LIFT THE US OPEN TROPHY.

  13. well nadals style is very physical and very rigrious.... he has the greatest defense out there...

he has also proven that he does not have to have as much skill to win, or super talent.. but he can win from being very fit, and having alot of mental and physical stamina..

thats how he beat federer at the wimbledon final..

  14. OMG you're clearly blind or have never watches one of Rafa's matches !! :-O.  He's the least boring player on tour !!!! And he is world #1 now and there's nothing you can do about it haha !!

    I love Rafa !!!! wooooooooo :)

  15. Rafael Nadal is the new #1. Nadal has achieved sooo much in the past 3/4years he is now the king of tennis :)! Congrats to Rafa for being amazing and just perfect !!!

  16. Yea, I know what you mean. I like Nadal as a person, he's really nice. But his style is a little bring, it's similar every match and he doesn't bring anything different to each game. I love Federer's style, he glides across the court and his game is so interesting to watch. He uses tactics and smart play - which I think is the reason he has lasted at no. 1 for so long.

Nadal has a good game - but he mainly relies on th physical side of it, he hits the ball hard and with a lot of topspin. I guess players like Djokovic will eventually work out how to play against him because his game is not as versatile as Rogers and other players. And once he gets a bit older, and is not as fit he will probably have a hard time defeating his opponents.

I do like Nadal, but sometimes I do get bored watching his style of play. Rather than Federer's and Djokovics - even though I do like and respect Nadal as a person / player =]

But Nadal does desrve to be the number one this year - Federer needs to pick up his confidence and start looking at where he is going wrong. Nadal's matches are good.. but watching them for hours on end would get boring. He is a desrvng no.1 though.

  17. I found him boring to watch 4 or 5 years ago when all he did was bringing the ball back but he has improved his game a lot since and that's why now I enjoy watching him play more than what I used to.

  18. Someone already said "did you watch wimbledon final?" -->2008

I'm going to add with "did you watch french open final?" --> 2008

How many times Nadal made a winner, especially with that ridiculous passing shot (from both forehand and backhand)?

Yes, i agree with you that his talent is not as good as Federer and Borg, which we may not see it again for i don't know how long.. another 10 years?  20 years?

However, Nadal is an example that the "less genius" can surpass "the most genius" with hard work, determination, passion, and attitude...

That's why, i totally disagree with you that Nadal is boring... He made the game a lot more interesting, because before he arrived, no one can beat the greatness of Federer.. Everybody just "admit" that Federer is unbeatable... Everybody thinks, that by reaching a Grand Slam Final, and beaten by Federer was an "accomplishment"...

well, Nadal didn't have that kind of mindset... he always admit that Federer is a great player, the number 1 in the world, and probably the greatest.. But in his mind, "it doesn't mean that i can't beat him, no?".. and to have that kind of attitude in relatively young age, just makes him a lot more interesting for truly tennis fans... and inspired a lot of people, in every aspect of their life..

Step up, do your best, then see what happened...

    VAMOSS!!

  19. I am going to disagree with you (but not completely).

Nadal does draw a lot of errors from his opponent with the way he hits the ball. Often it is deep and forces his opponent far behind the baseline, opening the entire court.  He also has many shots with a high bounce, putting the ball at his opponents chest, making a solid return difficult.  But I dont think it's boring.

His inside out forehand is stunning.  The way he skirts the line on just about every shot is not luck, it's hard work and skill.  The way he runs down every ball like it's match point is exciting in a world of baseline rallies with little to no modulation and even less net play.  I love his half volley, his passing shots when he comes to net, and the lobs he throws out there to give him time to get back in the point.

But even more exciting is the extreme angle he can put on a shot and still be deadly accurate.  He does this a lot on his serve (sets up a winner at the minimum if not an ace), and he does it on the run (usually from a few feet inside the baseline) with fantastic results.

Now, is he more exciting than Federer? I think so, but that takes nothing away from Federer's finesse.  He has a clean, effortless style that reminds me of the early days of tennis when the game was as much about style as it was about winning.  He also has the power needed to be successful in today's game.  I guess that's why he was number 1 for so many weeks (and I think will be again before he's done).

Federer's ability to set up shots and close the point is amazing, even from the baseline.  His skill at net is phenomenal (I don't think he comes to net enough).  Until this year his forehand has been deadly and his backhand dangerous (I think we'll see it back to the way it should be in 2009).

He is a gentleman on and off the court, but I often felt he looked like a technician on the court with little to no emotion.  While some don't like the vamos rafa, fist pumping stuff... I would have liked to see something more from Federer on the emotive side. Unfortunately this year we are seeing more visible frustration than anything (his vodoo fingers celebration and the medal ceremony at the Olympics were awesome).

His talent is one that is more readily recognized because of it's traditional nature (similar to Sampras as well) and his domination of the sport for so long.

Nadal's talent is for understanding the physicality of a game and using his strengths to win. He has done this time and again, and has been able to adjust his game plan during a match to exploit weaknesses and avoid strengths in his opponents.  It may not be as graceful as Federer, but I would never call it boring.  I would also rank Nadal's talent right up there with Federer's.. the talents may be different, but no less significant.

  20. yeah, it gets boring when all he does is win.  =)

not the SAME talent as federer or borg, definitely.  but his talent is not any less exciting.  he doesnt have much variation in his shots yet, but wait a couple more matches and he'll get there.  and that's the most exciting part, he is still improving, you'll never know what he'll bring on the table next!

it's also not fair to base your opinions on matches that happened 2 years ago.  heck, not even matches 6 months ago!  nadal is a different player now.

  21. no way

  22. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... his game is fantastic ..... do you watch the wimbledon final?

  23. He is very boring to watch because of all the time he takes to play between points. He is so darn methodical and ritualistic in everything he does on the court, that after a while, you just want to scream and yell at him to: "hurry the h**l up!!!!" Gosh how many times is he going to scratch his *** and tug at his shoes!!! Enough already!!! And he always tends to do these things a lot more whenever he is facing a break point or he is down 15-30 or 0-30 in a game. Every time things get a little tight in any game, he takes his precious time to serve or receive serve. It is so darn frustrating!!!!

Yes he has created a new style and while he does have talent, he does not have the kind of talent that Roger obviously does. Roger makes everything seem so effortless and flawless. His shot making ability is done with so much ease and comfort, almost as if he is not exerting any amount of energy while he is hitting those shots.

It is the exact opposite with Nadal. Yes Rafa has great precision when it comes to his shot making ability, however the way he positions his body to make those shots, it comes across more as simply lucky shots rather than effortless strokes that he hits all over the court for a clean winner. That's the main difference between Nadal's and Federer's shot making ability!!! Federer makes it look so darn easy while Nadal's winners comes across as mere lucky shots that somehow miraculously found it's way in!!!

  24. I dont agree unfortunately.  Nadal and Federer plays a different style of tennis, but you'd have to agree that they do have similarities too, both can hit great angles.  Havnt you've seen nadal running at high speed and hitting the most amazing angle ever!  I actually think nadal brings fun to a game of tennis! He brings agility and excitement to a game rather than just standing there on one spot and hitting the ball ya know?  His talent is different, but it doesnt prove its not good, or then how can one explain the reason to why he has reached number one?... now that cant be by luck!, hes proven that one can be DIFFERENT and still SUCCEED.  GO RAFA.
