Rafa needed 3 sets to beat Djchorkerquit, and says he is tired...Federer is up next, do you think he has some gas left in his tank? Im sure this will be an added bonus to Roger...your thoughts please...

  1. Yes he can, and he just did. As everyone guessed, it is in three sets. He took the match 7-5 6-7 6-3 in 2 hours and 52 minutes. Nadal was down 4-1 in the second set but battled back to level it 6-6. However, he lost the tie-break. He broke Federer to lead 3-1 in the third set and both held their service games until Nadal was serving for the championship, he took the set and match at 6-3.

This is Nadal's first Hamburg title, which he lost to Federer in finals last year with a third bagel set.

  2. He sure can. Don't forget that Rafa is the KING of Clay, it's not like he regularly loses to Federer. He's 7-1 in clay against Federer, just one loss from the Hamburg last year. On the other hand, Federer is a bit desperate to win a big tournament since he had a weak start to the season, so it could go either way, However, I still think Rafa will win it. Go Nadal :D

  3. It's hard to make that call because whenever they play each other it's always an epic battle. I'm a Federer fan first before a Rafa fan, so it's kind of natural for me to to edge towards Roger a little bit, but I can't forget Rafa is still the king of clay. If Rafa is saying he's tired, that shifts the odds towards Fed, but between those two anything can happen. Ugh I don't know we'll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out, it's too hard to choose either one of them.

  4. Yup coz' he's younger so he'd much stronger & enduring than an ailing Roger who's age is somewhat catching up on him, plus the supremacy of Rafa on clay. Fed is my idol but I believe he is starting to go downhill at the moment.

  5. Borgy I was pro Roger up until a while ago. I know whether Rafa wins or looses tomorrow he won't have enough points at the beginning of the French to stay ahead of Djokerquit. Rafa looses 1000 as last years F.O Champ and Djokerquit looses only 450 as a semifinalist. So the idiot's fans will be happy for like a week or two. After the French when Roger wins and adds 1000 and Rafa looses to him in the Final and collects 700 I want him to stay ahead of the lil putz so let Rafa win Hamburg. Does he have enough in the tank. I don't think so since he spent it all beating the loud mouth today but Roger I'm sure is aware of the situation and may not need to exert himself too much tomorrow to show his dominance. He can still get a great match in and a good warm up for the French.

  6. Tough one to call. Hamburg is FEderer's tournament, but clay is Nadal's surface. Last year Nadal was tired and Federer beat him. But you have to admit that last year Federer played a h**l of a match. I don't know if he can repeat it again. But just like one person said in response to my question, Hamburg doesn't really matter, it's Paris that matters.

  7. Impossible. roger will win.

  8. I thought Nadal looked tired last night - puffy around the eyes, drinking a lot of fluids, maybe his kidneys need some attention, having said that - he was genius.

The masters seem to play even better when faced with adversity

There were a few times when he made djokovic look like an amateur.

Federer has also been playing with some hitches, sometimes a little slow.

They both respect each other. and their fans.

    Hard call.

I desperately want Nadal to keep that 2 seeding.

We have to remember that Nadal is No.1 on clay but Federer is No. 2 on clay. He wins a lot on clay.

On the day when those two play

    on clay

    I never place a bet.

  9. Well, after that 'Roger-momentum stopping' injury time out that Nadal has just called in the first set, anything is possible.

  10. i am sure he will beat

  11. i still hope nadal wins!

  12. it might bee sooo hard

    i mean everytime they

    play is amazzinfg

but we will see who will win

  13. probably not;that game took a lot of mental and physical exertion to win and Rafa is probably burnt out (sigh).

also the hamburg clay is not the surface rafa excells on as it's too damp and he has a harder time playing his game.
