  1. I am pleasantly surprised!  I guess now is the time to prove his detractors wrong!  Nadal's not a one-court master afterall!

  2. no surprise. nadal is better on grass than federer is on clay. he took fedex to 5 sets last year and has a good chance this time to win it. even djokovic can win

  3. I'm a proud Rafa fan. I did not expect him to beat Djokovic on grass, but I am very happy that Rafa won. Vamos Rafa!!

  4. no surprise really, after he won against andy yesterday i knew he was going to win.-

    congrats to rafa.-

his chances in wimbly are the same than before, very good.-

let's not forget the guy's been the runner-up the last two years.-still, i want andy roddick to win wimbledon

  5. It would have been a surprise years ago, but not anymore. He has been an all-court all-around player for some time now (but still strongest and effective on his clay), and this was really boosted by how naturally strong he is.  Determined as well.  People were really watching the result of this because it wasn't clay and the chances for Djokovic were huge.  Now Wimbledon 2008 will be interesting because the gap between him and Federer on grass was very big, but now the no.2 and 1 spots have really become closer. No.3 Djokovic also tightening the gap slightly.  The rankings are really proving to be true and precise since both Federer and Nadal won their grass court warm-up titles on Sunday, and Djokovic getting to a final as well.  Overall, Federer is still the favourite for Wimbledon but for sure more caution and focus on his part!

  6. Well obviously its good. I thought what really must've boost his confidence is how he dismantled Andy Roddick in two sets. Roddick who is a pretty good grass player. I think however Djokovic will be Nadal's main threat to the Wimbledon finals. And obviously Federer has lost a step in his game and he might be motivated to win his sixth wimbledon. He has been knocking on the door at wimbledon and he took Federer to five sets last year and he was injured so obviously Nadal will have a good chance.

  7. Nadal is just on Cloud 9 right now. He just came off a 4th consecutive French Open victory and an absolute rout of World #1 Roger Federer. He's riding "The Zone Wave," and Ivo Karlovic, Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic just got "wiped out!" LOL! And those are 3 players with the type of games that would on paper favor them over Nadal on grass. Not too much of a surprise, you can never underestimate Nadal's heart and determination no matter the situation. If this form continues into Wimbledon, Federer is going to have to be at his absolute best to stop him, assuming they both make the finals. And this is coming from an adamant Federer fan.

  8. its not a surprise though i am really expecting a very exciting match (which i did not disappoint as both players display good tennis at both ends of the court).  with the win, RAFA is no doubt as one of the favorites to win IN this year's Wimbledon along with FED (though i am not counting DJOKO as well). RAFA WILL DEFINITELY HAVE A VERY GOOD CHANCE TO WIN THIS YEAR'S WIMBLEDON without any doubt!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I'm glad that he won :D the match was amazing. He's playing really well and that makes me think that he'll go far in Wimbledon. And i don't know, but i don't think Roger is a threat to him anymore..

  10. Yeah it's a surprise. Rafa isn't so great on grass, and I'm happy we won, but I'm even happier cuz I didn't watch him this time. Lol. Nole would've been more logical, but I'm glad. I want to see him in the semifinals of wimbledon, but i want to see Nole and Federer in the finals.

    VAMOS RAFA

  11. I think he has a very great chance of winning Wimbledon, more than ever before.

I think the caption to the picture is very funny. Its Rafa playing Nole this "year" at Queen's. Doesn't it look just like the outfit he wore last year? And I believe I see the website for Wimbledon on the scoreboard.

  12. its not a surprise he won

however, my thoughts are that he wont win wimbledon because:

at the french open: he cruised through it, no dropped sets(i think), barely ever going into a 7-5 or 7-6 match, and stuff like that.

at queens: all of his sets were long except for the first match, the second match they werent long but he dropped a set,

OVERALL, its saying that he has a tougher time on grass, is still dominant, but needs to exceed to win wimbledon.

    PERIOD: .
