I think Nadal uses a tension of around 53lb. How is it possible for him to hit the ball as hard as he does and keep the ball in , is it all due to the topspin ??

I string my racket at 62lb, have a similar rackets to Nadals and hit with quite a bit of topspin.. I tired my strings at 58lb and the power difference for me was too much!!

  1. It's the spin, angle, and placement his balls always look like they're going long, and they just drop.  He's a lefty, and lefty's tend play with more spin.

  2. Its not the topsin its the angle at which he hits it!

  3. Nadal puts much topsin in forehand shots and sometimes in backhand shots. I guess he has more control over the ball and puts a lot more topsin in them.
