After Nadal finally won outside of Clay I thought I'd pop the question.
Now consider it if Nadal was to retire tomorrow, okay, cause this is a present day question, not who will be better etc.
Nadal has won 4 consecutive French Opens.
He has also won a Wimbledon title with 2 Finals.
Courier won back to back French Open titles, while making a third consecutive final.
He won back to back Aussie Open titles.
He also made a Final appearance at the U.S. Open and at Wimbledon.
He made 7 Slam Finals in total, at least one on each surface, and won four slams, two back to back on different surfaces.
He made 11 total Grand Slam semifinals, four consecutively including 3 consecutive Finals ( 1 win ) in 1993.
Nadal in comparison has made 8 total semifinals, again, 7 finals with 5 wins, streak of 3 semifinals in a row is current.
So, has Nadal surpassed Courier? Or does he still have more to do?
