Nadiya De La Vega to follow the precedent in the betvictor.com Handicap Chase
The Class 2 betvictor.com Handicap Chase has pulled together twenty candidates who are four-year-old and above. Among them there are quite few options that are highly likely to end up in the frame of at least the first three positions. The winner of the
two mile and four furlong race will be awarded from the prize money of £31,280 at Cheltenham on Saturday, 20th October.
The 11 to 1 entry, Bobowen, is highly respected and is expected to deliver satisfactorily as always. One of the brightest hopes in the field is the 13 to 2 prospect, That ‘Lldoboy, but he really needs to sort out his jumping issues which have been pulling
him away for the winner’s position in the last two occasions he raced.
The only candidate for whom the race will serve as the seasonal debut is the six-year-old bay/brown mare, Nadiya De La Vega. It has been her practice to win the first seasonal outing since the last two seasons.
Lost World’s daughter won the Prix De Gramont on 21st January, 2010 at Pau race course in France.
The Nicky Henderson trained then won for the second time during the 2010 campaign on 17th November in the Highflyer Bloodstock Four Years Old Novices’ Chase at Warwick race course over two miles.
The French bay/brown mare won as the favourite entry while paired up with jockey, Andrew Tinkler, and the two defeated, Sir Du Bearn, by thirteen lengths.
The John P. McManus owned knocked into the new season with success in the William Hill Novices’ Chase on 15th January, 2011 at Kempton over two miles.
Nadiya De La Vega won as the most popular entry for a straight second time with jockey, Barry Geraghty, riding. The team took down Pepe Simo by a length’s mark.
The last time that she bagged the winner’s prize money was in the Betfair Graduation Chase on 18th November, 2011 at Haydock over two miles. The guidance of jockey, A. P. McCoy, granted the lead of ten lengths over, Doctor David.
The same rider will take on the mount once again, and the two have drawn the ninth stall to race from.
She will need to stay at guard from, Bobowen.
