I have to admit, I at first didnt think nady would adjust to AL Pitching and do very well, but even though its early, he has been AWE-SOME. especially against The Angels pitching staff. What do you think of nady's performance and do you think he can continue and was it a good trade in your eyes?

  1. The man is a STUD. that had to be one of the best trades this century aside a-rod. it was a steal trading farnsworth and other minors for him and marte. i didnt think that he would do good with the yanks, but he is a savage

  2. i don't think nady will be as hot as he has been for the rest of the year, but this looks like a great trade by brian cashman, giving up some middle of the road pitching prospects and a top outfield prospect for two guys who can really help the yankees now and down the line in nady and damaso marte

  3. ya it was an amazing trade

  4. He had a great game.

Too Early to tell if the Trade is a great one.

He is a solid Righty Bat.

I think the Yankees were big winners getting this guy for the little they gave the Pirates.

  5. Xavier is my favorite player in mlb, so i am obviously going to say he is awesome... but I think the trade was a good choice on the Yankees side, but a bad one for the Pirates, they needed him (and Bay) in the outfield and they were the two best hitters. I was actually at the game when he got traded, It was an emotional night for Pirates fans. I look at his stats a quite a bit and in his last ten games his BA is .400 AMAZING!! He has had 3 HR in 8 games, and he has the highest OPS on the Yankees right now.  Hope this helps!!

  6. Randy I- Farnsworth was traded for pudge. But Nady has been pretty amazing. I knew that this guy was a good player, he has been playing in pittsburgh a place where great players are hidden by how bad the team is. The fun thing to see is they have him for another year, what will they do with him, when matsui comes back. To be quite honest i would take Nady over Matsui, i dont know the last time Matsui has been healthy for an entire year. This was a steal by the yanks and not only did they get him they got a lefty in the pen.

  7. Muy bien!

  8. The X-Man has been impressive all year, but since he played for the Pirates, nobody knew what a great job he was doing. Now that he is in the big stage in NY, he has shown the rest of MLB what everyone in Pittsburgh already knew--Nady is a very good baseball player!

  9. I'm a mets fan so I saw Nady in 2006 before we traded him for Oliver Perez and Roberto Hernandez. (which worked out well for the mets since perez pitched ok in the 06 playoffs and really well this last month or so)

He is a very streaky player, and as you guys saw on Sunday, when he is hitting, watch out. However, he typically struggles in the second half so realize that he might be due for a pitfall soon.

That said, the Yankees only gave up 4 prospects (no Joba/Hughes/Kennedy). If Marte and Nady were free agents after this season I would call this trade even, but since you got them for next year as well, the Yankees definitely have the edge on this one.

RECAP: The Pirates got some good prospects, but the Yankees got someone who can be an impact (right handed) bat when he is on a hot streak, and a lefty, which the Yankees never seem to have in the pen.

  10. he was impressive but not as impressive as Manny, what a steal

  11. i doubted him before. but now i like him as a player now

  12. Star players that get traded mid season usually have a surge as they join the team but they eventually come back to earth.  He had a fabulous first week just like Manny, Tex, Sabathia, and Tex last year when he joined the Braves.  Even a minor league call up like Jay Bruce usually starts on fire but the numbers even out.
