Nail Life for Bitten Nails?

I used to bite my nails for years, and as a result my nail beds (the pink part) are about half the length of what they should be. I haven't bitten them for three/four years now but they haven't grown back. I've tried growing them long, cutting them far down, everything, but they aren't growing back. Then I read Sally Beauty's Nail Life (http://www.naillife.com/index.asp?ID=1&PageAction=Custom, first review) grows the nail beds. Does it work? Is there another method?

Please no answers about how to stop biting nails, etc. I haven't bitten them in years and have no urge to again.
