  1. It can be tricky and extremely painful for the dog if you're not careful!!!..... My advice;  take it to your vet.  It only costs about  $10

  2. Pedipaws is just an overpriced dremel tool. You can buy a dremel at walmart for $20. Your dog will have to get used to the noise and the vibrations on his nails.

Make sure with those clippers that you slice the nail fromt he bottom up, not side to side. Bottom up cutting won't crush the nail.

  3. Its one of two things:

    1) Your nail cutters aren't sharp enough  or

    2) You are not cutting fast/firm enough.

For best results with the guiltine cutters you need so apply firm quick pressure to the handle for a smooth cut.  They more you use it the more confident you will become.  If you are hesitant or try to go slow, you will likely end up hurting the dog more that if you accidentally cut into the quick.  Cutting slow causes the nail to bend/twist/crush rather then being sliced through.    So, just line up your cutter and snip fast (not quick....sorry for the poor pun)

  4. GET THE PEDI PAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. i asked this same question just the other day.  people that actually had the peticure said good things and i heard alot about the dremel.  i have a dremel that i've used for other things and it scared my dogs just to hear it.  i'm going to try to find someone that has one first before i decide to buy it.
