Nail polish remover on hardwood floor?

i was cleaning my room, and i noticed a stain on m wood floor from nailpolish remover that i spilled like a year ago, i know i was stupid not to clean it already, and the color has faded and the part where i spilled it, it feels rough

is there anything i can do about it anymore?

  1. There are hardwood fixers you can buy at home depot. We had some scratches in our floor, and it fixed them. I'm assuming the remover probably ate away at the varnish on the floor?


  2. It's not a "stain" per say, as it's not something on the floor, it's a place where the floor finish has been removed or damaged.

    The only way to fix it would be to re-stain.

    Depending on how bad the damage is (ie how much stain the remover has eaten) you might be able to get away with just sanding it smooth again. Otherwise you will need to strip it down and start over. This could be a big pain because you might end up with it looking uneven, and might have to redo the whole floor to make it perfectly seamless.

    With that in mind, I would probably elect to do nothing (unless the mark is really bad, and really noticable)
