Everton striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Naismith-c34205, believes that the Toffees have become a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League, and expects them to overachieve this season.
The Merseyside outfit got their 2012/13 campaign off to a flyer, recording wins against Manchester United and Aston Villa in their opening two league games. They also hammered Leyton Orient 5-0 in a Capital One Cup fixture late in August.
However, the men in blue suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat at the Hawthorns last Saturday, which snapped their eleven-match unbeaten streak in EPL.
Given the current quality and strength of the squad, the Toffees currently boost a formidable force, and can go on and unsettle the top flight teams this term.
While speaking to the reporters during an interview, the Welsh footballer claimed that his side’s win against the 19 times league champions on the opening day had blown a spirit of belief in the entire unit.
He opined that they have got what it takes to get the better of any team, and their 2-0 loss against West Bromwich Albion was just a hiccup.
“We showed, especially in the Manchester United game, we were willing to fight and got our just rewards with a good 1-0 win and we pushed on from there in the cup game and against Aston Villa [won 3-1], although obviously last weekend wasn’t a great result
to finish it off,” he said.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 signed the 25-year old on a four-year deal in July, after he appeared in the transfer market as a free agent.
The former Rangers hit-man, who remained on the sidelines for almost nine months due to a damaged cruciate ligament, played an active part in Everton’s pre-season campaign.
So far, he has capped 4 appearances for the club this season.
After making a switch from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, the striker is currently loving life at Goodison Park. He revealed that he wants to make up for the lost time by putting up some solid performances, and his long term absence had only ignited in him more hunger and desire
to do well.
“The whole way through most of pre-season, I’ve enjoyed it more than most footballers enjoy pre-season just for the fact I had been out. Now that I’m back involved in games, the games can’t come quick enough,” he added.
