to be one of the finest upcoming fast bowlers in the world and was tipped to achieve greatness.
Sethi, while expressing his views while talking to journalists in Lahore, mentioned that he will raise this issue in the governing body of the sport.
“He (Amir) is a talented cricketer,” Sethi said. “I will request the ICC that since as he has served two and a half years of his ban, and was also jailed, to reduce his ban.”
Amir came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and made his international debut during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2009 in England, helping the Green Shirts clinch the title. The left-armer immediately cemented his place in the national team in all three
formats of the game.
While commenting about Pakistan’s upcoming tour of West Indies, the interim PCB Chairman made it clear that the selection committee will be totally free to pick the squad for the series. However, Sethi said that he will hold the selectors accountable for
the performance of the national team.
“I need some time to understand the problems. It was my first meeting (with the selectors) and have told them that there will be no interference from my side in selection. But, I will definitely ask questions. If my questions are hard, they have to think
about it. Meanwhile, they have been given the task of selecting the ODI and T20 teams for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 tour,” he added.
There has been a lot of criticism on the working of the PCB in recent times, especially after Pakistan’s poor performance in the recently-concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2013, where the Green Shirts failed to register a single victory.
