Nalgene bottle alcohol odor.?

Question

Whenever I use my nalgene bottle to hold a cocktail, the bottle ends up absorbing the odor and smelling fruity for a long time. Is there anyway to get rid of this? Ive tried the methods on the nalgene website, but they dont work. Has anyone else had this problem?

Dont use a nalgene bottle!

Nalgene is really designed to hold water, alcohol is likely pitting and disolving some of the plastic which causes it to lodge into the material.... and at the same time probably gets plasic in your drink, which can't be good.

I would ONLY suggest storing anything alcoholic in metal or glass.   There are quite a few metal bottles out there these days that you can use, that are simmilar to nalgene bottles.
