Nam Phan gets ready to face Jimy Hettes at UFC 141 – UFC News
Two American mixed martial art (MMA) fighters, Nam Phan and Jimy Hettes would be entering the fighting ring on December 30, 2011. They would be fighting at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 141 event to be held in Las Vegas.
The UFC management has confirmed these reports and have placed the bout in the main card of the event.
It would be a fight between two versatile fighters who belong in the featherweight category. They have been going on a smooth road in their MMA and UFC careers. The 28-year-old Phan has win seventeen bouts in his MMA career and
lost nine. He would be facing a younger opponent in the form of Hettes, who is 24-years-old and is still undefeated. Hettes could have an upper hand in the fight for his great run in his MMA career. He started his professional MMA career in June 2009 and has
been going on without any loss.
Their fight would be an interesting one as both fighters are in the prime of their careers and can bring a lot of pain once they settle in the UFC octagon fight ring. For Hettes, this will be his second UFC bout which he would
certainly be looking forward to win and extend his winning streak. Hettes has been performing exceptionally well in his career and although Phan has a higher win ratio, it would be Phan who would be feeling intimidated as he makes his way into UFC 141.
Phan, on the other hand, made his MMA debut in October 2001 and has been a long time MMA fighter with loads of experience under his belt. He made his UFC debut at UFC 133 in August 133 against Mike Brown but made a losing start
into the UFC. However, he did win his second ever bout in the UFC at UFC 136 against Leonard Garcia in October 2011.
While entering into the ring at UFC 141, both fighters would get some sort aggression. For Hettes, securing his winning streak in his MMA career would be the main aim as he would not let Phan end his streak. On the other hand,
Phan would not want lose either, for he has a huge experience to safeguard and losing against a newcomer would be a humiliation.
