  2. A History of Violence - With a movie with the world violence in it they are giving them selves a high bar and the movie lives up to it's name in spades. It is very difficult to watch, especially the "get in the car" scene. But it used the violence wonderfully, making it a major element in the story (like when Tom's son starts to act like "Joey" and Tom freaks out and acts out in violence by slapping him then is horrified as to what he has done) and even apply it to domestic s*x. The movie is very deep and nuts! I got to say, it's the only movie I have ever seen that was better then the book. REALLY!

John Carpenter's The Thing - For some reason this gem of the 80's just fell off the radar, and it's hard to remember why John Carpenter is John Carpenter these days. I still love the blood scene, as parodied on South Park's Licecapades episode.

  3. Hard Eight and The Usual Suspects.

  5. "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" is, to me, the ONLY movie that Leonardo DiCaprio did that actually deserved all the hype that never happened

Well, there're two movies that I do like, I do own 'em on dvd now but, these movies were not shown as much not even, nowadays...only sometimes.  One movie, is a somewhat quirky comedy with semi-unknown actress Adrienne Shelly, the movie is called: "TRUST" and the other is a ingeniously funny one from the 80's which wasn't played as much either was a movie called: "The Couch Trip"...Don Aykroyd and Walter Matthau starred in it.

  9. Happy Gilmore

    Robocop
