I am conducting a survey to find what people's opinions are on other solely based on their names.

Please tell me the opinions you would judge about the following people based on their name alone.

Eileen - plain, intelligent, shy

Erik - athletic, good looking, common

Darlene - unattractive, low intelligence

Maggie - friendly, bubbly

Erica - serious, unfriendly

Jeremy - down to earth, good looking, shy

Vik - tough guy, overly aggressive

Vera - overly serious, unfriendly, L*****n

Sarah - common, simple, somewhat attractive

Rachel - overweight, dark hair

Jeffery - goofy, awkward, friendly

Erik - happy go lucky guy, good things happen to him.

Darlene - ambitious, don't get in her way!

Maggie - petite girl, raspy voice..

Erica - smart, pretty, charming, social..

Vik - russian, jerk most likely

Vera - probably related to vik, genius, teacher

Sarah - superficial, not too bright

Rachel - smart but likes to do hair

Jeffery - thin, albino kid, smells...

Judge them in terms of what?  race? age? values? ethnicity?

I'll come back to this answer after class, please clarify what you want us to base our judgment on.  It is very hard to stereotype names but I'll definitely give it a go.  Give me a little more to work with :)

In relation to what exactly?

This question could not be more subjective if it tried, and while I do not mind the question, the answers will always be subjective to ones experiences with people called that name.

Eileen - plain, serious, older (60ish)

Erik - jock, good looking, social

Darlene - overweight, below avg. intelligence, bad perm :-)

Maggie - cute, popular, sweet "girl"

Erica - my middle name, so I'm slightly biased

Jeremy - special needs (sorry, first impression!)

Vik - beer gut, funny, balding

Vera - Oh, SOOO gum-chewing waitress!!

Sarah - kind, nurturing, genuine

Rachel - pretty, girl-next-door type

Jeffery - Jeremy's older brother who sticks up for him. Seriously though, Jeffery makes me think of someone not too serious about academics, average joe all around.

Interesting question...I tried to be honest, for better or worse! :-)
