  1. The water cycle does not affect climate change.  Climate change affects the water cycle. Dog wags the tail.


  2. 1) Water vapour is a greenhouse gas, so the warmer the earth gets, the more quickly more water evaprates into the atmosphere and retains heat.

    2) The ocean is considered an important "carbon sink" which is currently offsetting the impact of increased CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.

    3)A little more complex but, as the earth gets warmer, ice melts and this fresh water changes the density of the ocean, halting the process of thermohaline circulation and thus climate regulating wind patterns. This will contribute more so to "climate change" (eg Europe will most likely get colder), and will have less of a "warming" effect, per se.
