  1. banana leaves are used for storage and you can eat them too.  Corn husks also.  Palm leaves have many uses as well as palmetto frawns.

  7. In my country, Guatemala, we cook on corn leaves a mix of mashed corn, and make "tamales" on some kind of banana leaves, food is cooked on water wrapped on the leaves and kept wrapped until eaten.
