This is nearly impossible to answer, insofar as the diversity of tropical rain forests is incredibly high, and the identity of common species changes dramatically from one part of the tropics to one another.

For example, colleagues of mine collected seeds of over 975 tree, shrub, and liana species in a forest in Peru; other colleagues did the same for nearly 660 species in Ecuador, and (remarkably) there's almost no overlap in the 20 most common species of the two forests.

Now, consider how different species will be if you compare two rain forests that are on different continents (e.g., equatorial Africa vs. northern Australia).
