I have to write a one page report on it in Biology Ap. So one that is not super common, but one that has enough info on it on the internet.

  1. Glycerol dehydrogenase.  It's doubtful anybody else in your class will also pick it.

This site has enzymes grouped by class.  You can pick another one from here:

  2. Do salivary amylase.  These enzymes exist in the digestive tract and break down starch into sugar.  Easy paper.

  3. L-gulonolactone oxidase, the last enzyme in vitamin C synthesis which primates happen to lack.

  4. Telomerase.  It's cool but you might not get other people doing anything on it.  It reverses the shortening of chromosomes that occurs as cells undergo division.  When the telomeres on the ends of chromosomes get too short, the cells will not divide. Lots of info on the web because telomerase can be activated in cancer to let cells undergo more divisions.  Activate it right and you might help r****d aging, maybe even stop it.

If unlocking the secrets of eternal life isn't up your alley, how about death?  Suicide perhaps?  Maybe a caspase like caspase 3 which cells use to commit suicide?
