We're working on a relative adoption. The baby is 2 1/2 months old and we'll probably have him by the time he's 6 months old. We're fine with his name: The first name is that of my European-born grandfather and the middle name is one we've talked about. As his "second mother," I would call him by his "second name." My mother in law thinks the name is "too harsh" though. What do you all think of changing the baby's name in this situation? We talked about it today and have a first and middle name that we agree on.
