Hi; I am trying to find out what the official (and unofficial, if it exists) term is for the set of dishes kept on ships reserved for only when an admiral is aboard; can anyone help?

  1. Admirals Platter?

  2. Damnit...I used to know it...we need a squid on board here that has been a messcrank!

  3. Flag Chinaware. It is normally stored on board those vessels which might serve as the command ship for a flag grade officer (Admiral). Those would be Aircraft carriers, some cruisers, Landing Platform Docks in the amphibious fleets and USS Blue Ridge home ported at Yokosuka, Japan which serves as flagship for Seventh Fleet.

  4. After 20 years in the Navy, I have never seen an admiral come aboard any of the boats that I served on.

  5. Admiral's fine china dishes!
