That is the job of the ball picker. They pick up the balls on the practice range, hence the job title ball picker..

When I worked at a country club, we were called "bag boys" - hauled clubs to carts, cleaned clubs, picked up driving range, etc. We had a "drag" pulled behind a cart to pick up balls and a hand-held aluminum tube that held, I think, 21 balls we would zip around and pick up, and then dump them into a bin on the cart, which held 300. It sucked, but I got to play for free on a cart all I wanted at a beautiful club.

We call them cart staff, but Ive heard player personnel at a few courses.

Most often if you pick up range balls you wash and clean the carts.
